THESE EARRINGS ARE INSPIRED BY MONA'S THIRD CHILD, SALAM (age 8).
When we first discussed doing a series of pieces inspired by Mona's children, I asked her what information she would like me to share about each of them. She requested that I share the meaning and origin of their names.
Salam is a name that means peaces, and evokes a feeling of safety and security. His name is especially poignant in the moment as it embodies the hope and dream of safety that Mona's wishes for all of her family.
