THESE EARRINGS ARE INSPIRED BY MONA'S FIRST CHILD, GHASSAN (age 14).
When we first discussed doing a series of pieces inspired by Mona's children, I asked her what information she would like me to share about each of them. She requested that I share the meaning and origin of their names.
Ghassan is a name that means the intensity of youth, and calls to mind all the vigor and vitality of new life. His name originates from a reference to the Ghassan water spring, and like a spring, Ghassan overflows with youthful energy. It is Mona's most fervent hope that he be able to live a life where his vibrant energy can take root and grow.
