THESE EARRINGS ARE INSPIRED BY MONA'S SECOND CHILD, TALA (age 12).
When we first discussed doing a series of pieces inspired by Mona's children, I asked her what information she would like me to share about each of them. She requested that I share the meaning and origin of their names.
Tala is a name that means little palm tree, and calls to mind the date palms native to Palestine, which have long symbolized life and vitality even under harsh conditions. Like the tree she was named for, Tala is vibrant and full of life, shining her bright light on all of Mona's family and lifting their spirits despite many hardships.
